What This Job Involves:
As an EHS Manager at JLL's Beijing operations, you will play a critical role in maintaining the highest safety standards across our commercial real estate portfolio while developing comprehensive safety programs, leading training initiatives, and ensuring regulatory compliance to support our mission of shaping the future of real estate for a better world. This strategic safety leadership role combines program development expertise with regulatory compliance management, requiring you to design site EHS programs based on client standards, JLL requirements, and local regulations while creating safe operation procedures, emergency plans, and training matrices to maintain continuous improvement in EHS performance. You will play a crucial role in JLL's commitment to workplace safety excellence by conducting comprehensive EHS training programs, performing site risk assessments, leading incident investigations with 100% Root Cause Analysis completion, and managing hazardous waste warehouse operations while ensuring zero violations of safety regulations and maintaining zero injury targets across all operations.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Design site EHS programs based on client standards, JLL requirements, and local regulations while creating SOPs, emergency plans, and training matrices
- Develop annual EHS plans, budgets, and drill schedules while maintaining continuous improvement in EHS performance
- Conduct comprehensive EHS training programs including LOTO, confined space, hot work, work at height, and GHS while organizing emergency drills
- Maintain Emergency Response Team while developing training matrices and ensuring appropriate safety education for all personnel
- Perform site risk assessments and review Job Hazard Analyses while conducting regular safety inspections to eliminate identified hazards
- Monitor subcontractor compliance with safety requirements and codes of conduct while ensuring zero violations of safety regulations
- Lead incident investigations with 100% Root Cause Analysis completion while developing comprehensive action plans following incidents
- Manage hazardous waste warehouse operations including collection, segregation, and disposal while overseeing chemical management and GHS compliance.
Required Qualifications:
- China Certified Safety Engineer license with extensive experience as Safety Supervisor/Manager in foreign-funded manufacturing companies
- Strong English language proficiency (written and verbal) with excellent interpersonal communication and management skills
- Proactive approach with ability to support digital transformation initiatives (IFM 4.0)
- Experience performing site risk assessments and conducting safety inspections
- Knowledge of emergency response procedures and Emergency Response Team management
- Understanding of hazardous waste management and chemical handling compliance
- Ability to lead incident investigations and develop comprehensive action plans
- Experience with occupational health file maintenance and health screening coordination.
Preferred Qualifications:
- NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent international safety certification
- CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) credentials
- Experience with multiple safety management systems and international standards
- Background supporting various audits including RBA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and government inspections
- Knowledge of LOTO, confined space, hot work, and work at height safety procedures
- Understanding of GHS compliance and chemical management systems
- Experience with foreign-funded manufacturing company environments
- Familiarity with JLL Code of Conduct policies and procedures.
