About The Role

About The Role:

A successful candidate will lead multiple priorities with bold deadlines, be passionate about building high-quality, data-driven user experiences for enterprise analytics applications, and be innovative in their approaches to front-end technical delivery, particularly within the React and TypeScript ecosystem. You will lead the team responsible for evolving our industry-leading Core Reporting and Analytics platform, focusing on intuitive interfaces and compelling data visualizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner and collaborate with multi-functional stakeholders, including Product Management and UX Design, to prioritize, plan and deliver first-rate analytics and reporting experiences for Workday customers.
  • Drive the activities of front-end scrum teams to deliver intuitive, responsive user interfaces, interactive dashboards, and engaging data visualizations.
  • Coordinate the analysis, design, and development of scalable and maintainable React components and applications, ensuring the practical application of OOP principles in TypeScript.
  • Engage closely with backend engineering teams to define and consume RESTful APIs from Java-based services, ensuring seamless data integration for front-end applications.
  • Champion and enforce code quality and testing methodologies, including Unit, Integration, and End-to-End (E2E) testing using modern frameworks like React Testing Library.
  • Coach, mentor, and guide the architecture and cross-team efforts of senior engineers, fostering their career growth and nurturing a culture of technical excellence and ownership.
  • Personify and promote the Workday values of Employees, Customer Service, Innovation, Integrity, Fun, and Profitability.

About You

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience building and directly managing impactful engineering teams.
  • 8+ years of experience in hands-on software development, with a strong emphasis on front-end technologies.
  • Extensive experience with modern front-end development, including expert-level proficiency in TypeScript and ReactCompetency in Java for backend integration is also required.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams that build complex, data-heavy user interfaces, such as analytics dashboards or interactive reporting tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field or equivalent work experience.

Other Qualifications:

  • You see software development as a team sport and thrive in a highly collaborative Agile/Scrum culture where you’re always guiding and learning.
  • You have a strong focus on delivering high-quality, performant, and reusable browser components, particularly for interactive data visualizations.
  • You have a proven ability to foster a culture of creating clear technical documentation for component libraries and API usage guides.
  • You demonstrate the interpersonal skills needed to collaborate effectively across engineering, design, and product management to define and deliver on a product vision.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Software/SaaS platforms is a plus; experience with AI/ML technologies is also beneficial.
  • You put people first and ensure a psychologically safe and high-performing environment for your team members.
