Position Summary:
The heavy Diesel Mechanic in Gel Recycling is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of heavy-duty trucks and equipment used in gel recycling operations. This role involves ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the fleet through routine inspections, diagnosing mechanical issues, and performing necessary repairs and preventive maintenance.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities:
Maintenance And Repair:
- Perform routine maintenance and complex repairs on heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
Fleet Inspections:
- Conduct regular inspections of the entire fleet to identify and address potential problems.
- Document and report findings, recommending preventive measures to enhance equipment reliability.
Parts Replacement:
- Identify and replace worn or damaged parts, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications.
- Coordinate with parts suppliers to order necessary components.
Welding And Fabrication:
- Utilize welding and fabrication skills to repair and modify equipment as needed.
- Ensure that all welding work meets safety and quality standards.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
- Document parts used, hours worked, and any additional information required for reporting.
Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Enforce and promote a culture of safety among team members.
Training And Mentorship:
- Provide guidance and mentorship to mechanic helpers or apprentices.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on industry trends and advancements.
Job Qualifications
- High School diploma (GED)
Tech Schooling Experience
- minimum of 2 years' experience as a diesel mechanic
- Proficient with Microsoft Software; Excel, Word, Office, etc.
- Ability to read and record measurements with precision
- Proficient in welding, soldering, brazing, pipe fitting (Prefered)
- Maintain positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers and management.
