TRAINING ADMINISTRATOR (Hybrid - La Crosse, WI)

Hiring Salary Range: $55,300 - $77,400 (Non-Exempt) 

Compensation is determined by a combination of factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, and certifications. The actual offer may vary, reflecting the candidate's unique blend of experience, educational background, and skill level. 

The Training Administrator plays a key role in the Learning and Development Department by coordinating and supporting training programs that advance the organization’s goals and foster employee growth. Responsible for managing educational logistics, maintaining learning systems, and providing administrative support, this position ensures that training initiatives are well-organized, effectively delivered, and aligned with Dairyland’s commitment to continuous improvement and compliance. By assessing training needs, maintaining records, and monitoring program effectiveness, the Training Administrator helps build critical skills and supports a culture of ongoing development across the organization.

The Impact You'll Make In This Role:

Essential Job Functions:

1. Training Program Coordination:

  • Organize and manage all logistics for training sessions, including preparation of handouts, materials, supplies, technology, and booking of virtual or physical conference rooms.
  • Coordinate internal and external training sessions, workshops, and e-learning courses.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for trainers, facilitators, and vendors.
  • Create, manage and publish a training calendar; coordinate with internal and external trainers to schedule sessions.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, trainers, and leadership to ensure smooth execution of training programs.

2. Learning Management System (LMS) Administration: 

  • Maintain and update employee training records in the LMS. 
  • Manage and assist users with the Learning Management System (LMS), including course creation, assignment, tracking progress, and basic troubleshooting.

3. Administrative Support & Communication:

  • Handle registration, attendance tracking, and participant feedback collection.
  • Maintain accurate records of all training activities, including attendance, completion, and assessment outcomes, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Track and report on employee participation, assessment results, and training completion to management and other stakeholders.
  • Act as a resource for employees with questions regarding training programs, certifications, and career development opportunities. 
  • Develop communications to promote training programs and encourage employee participation across the organization. 
  • Prepare reports and presentations on training initiatives and outcomes for leadership teams. 
  • Manage and update the Learning and Development SharePoint Site.
  • Administer surveys evaluating training program quality.

4. Continuous Improvement:

  • Assess employees for training and development needs via surveys, interviews, performance data, and management input.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of training programs through feedback collection and data analysis; recommend and implement improvements.
  • Collect and analyze training feedback to support continuous improvement of program offerings.
  • Support the implementation of new education initiatives and onboarding aligned with organization’s strategic goals. 
  • Assist in assessing training needs and aligning programs with skills gaps and employee development objectives. 
  • Stay up to date on industry trends in training design, delivery, and technology to recommend improvements. 

5. Other duties as a assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education & Experience: Associate’s degree in business, education, or a related field with minimum of two (2) years relevant experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Prior experience in an electric cooperative or utility industry environment is highly desirable.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge

  • Understanding of project management basics and organizational processes related to training coordination
  • Knowledge of compliance and recordkeeping requirements for training programs
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), their administration, and reporting functions
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and best practices in training and development.

Skills

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, including training event coordination, calendar management, and report preparation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and collaborative platforms such as SharePoint
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with staff, trainers, and leadership
  • Efficiently manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment

Abilities

  • Ability to collect and analyze training feedback and assessment data to support program improvement
  • Create and assign courses within an LMS, monitor employee progress, and provide user support
  • Coordinate and schedule multiple training events and programs, ensuring all logistical needs are met
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships, serving as a reliable resource for employees, managers, and training partners
  • Accurately maintain records and documentation in accordance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements

The employee frequently is required to stand/sit; walk; use hands/fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. May need to set up rooms or technology for training sessions, both in-person and virtually.
