40Position Summary:
Operation and Maintenance Technicians are the primary staff positions that ensure the day-to-day, 24/7 operations of the Central Wisconsin Airport. There are three levels of Operation and Maintenance Technicians with increasing responsibility, skills, knowledge, and abilities needed to perform the job.
In compliance with federal regulations, the airport provides sufficient and qualified personnel to comply with the requirements of its Airport Certification Manual. The airport recognizes the importance of a well-trained experienced team. Therefore, the developmental progression of Operation and Maintenance Technicians will not be limited to the position in which they were hired.
Operation and Maintenance Technician I’s are primarily responsible for the customer service, custodial and parking functions along with regulatory compliance of portions of the Airport Security Plan.
The successful candidate will ultimately be assigned a second shift schedule working Monday through Friday, 3 p.m. - 11 p.m.
Examples Of Work Performed:
The following duties are typical of this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required or assigned.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all stakeholders
- Support the integrity of the airport parking system; process payments, replace consumables, respond to customers, issue parking violations, and report system failures
- Perform airport custodial services including cleaning and maintaining floors, windows, and restrooms, emptying wastebaskets, and ensuring the clean appearance of the passenger terminal building
- Conduct security inspections and patrols as specified in the Airport Security Plan, Security Directives, or airport security protocols, including responding to alarms
- Conduct non-movement area snow removal; operate snow blowers, powered brooms, plow trucks, and shovels to remove snow and ice effectively and safely
- Perform light plumbing work including repair leaking fixtures, repair toilets, unclog drains
- Perform light electrical and HVAC work including trouble shooting, changing bulbs and filters
- Perform landside mowing; operate riding mowers, push mowers, and various trimmers
- Utilize provided airport communication mediums including Work Order system, email, and radio

Additional Tasks and Responsibilities
- Coordinate specific work and assignments with various students and volunteers
- Participate in airport team building exercises including Marathon County culture initiatives
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Basic Computer Skills
- Ability to pass various background checks
- Valid driver’s license and a driving history that meets County standards
Additional Airport Training Requirements After Hire
- Minimum Training Requirements (Required for All OMT-I Employees)
- Proficiency Training Requirements (Desired for all OMT-I Employees)
- Advanced Training (Optional for all OMT-I Employees)
- Complete all operational training requirements
First Aid/Cpr/Aed
- Incident Command System (ICS) training, level ICS-100

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:
- Understanding of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and safe handling of chemicals.
- Operation of professional grade cleaning equipment (i.e. floor scrubbers, extractors, etc.), including basic troubleshooting
- Attention to detail and ability to adapt to unexpected situations.
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Collaborating effectively with other staff members.
- Work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals.
- Maintain a positive, professional attitude when assisting customers and resolving concerns.
Physical Requirements:
High Physical Requirements - Job requires significant physical exertion, with tasks that involve more active movement. This job may include standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects, or engaging in manual labor.
