Job Description Title: Manufacturing Specialist
SUMMARY Assists in planning, directing, and coordinating manufacturing processes by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assists in developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods.
Assists in analyzing and planning work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designing layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
Interfaces with production engineers concerning product design, tooling, methods, etc. to ensure efficient production methods.
May assist in talking with suppliers to determine product specifications and assist in arranging for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluating products according to specifications and quality standards.
Assists in estimating production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
Works with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
Trains operators and signs certifications
Assists With Setups
Assists in troubleshooting of production problems
Initiates and monitors SPC
Assists in maintaining of continuous improvement of company safety practices.
Assists in meeting/exceeding conversion costs, production schedules and quality goals.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Must have at least one year of production assembly experience preferably as an FST. Must be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of the assembly processes. Prefer an associate technical degree.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as sums, percentages, ranges, averages, etc. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
