Role Summary
The Lead Quality Automation Engineer will work within an agile team on small to large-scale projects. This role is responsible for leading quality automation processes, implementing test plans and automation frameworks, and ensuring high-quality project delivery. While some functional testing is required, the primary focus is on automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the QA Manager to identify and implement improvements in the testing lifecycle, architecture, and execution.
- Design and implement comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Develop and maintain automation test scripts integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
- Configure, optimize, and execute automated test scripts.
- Enhance and maintain the automation framework.
- Conduct peer reviews of team outputs to ensure quality and consistency.
- Provide guidance and support to QA team members on best practices and quality standards.
- Recommend and assist in implementing process improvements within the QA team.
- Analyze functional and non-functional requirements to determine testing scope and coverage.
- Coordinate with development and other teams to clarify project scope and ensure successful implementation.
- Foster collaboration and build trusting relationships across teams.
Skills & Experience
- Experience: 7–8 years as a Quality Engineer.
- Automation Frameworks: Proficient in tools such as Cucumber, Playwright, or Cypress.
- Programming: Strong experience in automation programming, preferably in Java.
- API Testing: Proficient in REST API test automation using tools like JMeter and Postman.
- Testing Practices: Skilled in both functional and non-functional testing, including performance testing.
- CI/CD Tools: Experience with Git-based repositories, Jenkins, JIRA, and other CI/CT/CD tools.
- Cloud Applications: Proficient in testing cloud-based applications.
- AI Tools & Testing: Experience with AI-powered testing tools and methodologies is a strong plus.
- Soft Skills: Independent, proactive, and capable of multitasking. Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams across geographies.
