About The Role:
We are currently seeking passionate and reliable Direct Support Workers to join our team across the Central Coast region.
You’ll provide one-on-one support to people with disabilities or older adults, helping them live comfortably and independently in their own homes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accompany clients to medical appointments, social outings, community events, and recreational activities, ensuring their safety and comfort while encouraging active participation.
- Facilitate meaningful social connections by joining clients for coffee, walks, or other leisure activities, helping to reduce isolation and promote engagement.
- Help plan, prepare, and serve meals according to individual dietary needs and preferences, supporting clients to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
- Support clients with light household chores such as cleaning, laundry, and tidying to help maintain a safe and comfortable living environment.
- For qualified workers, assist with personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and toileting in a respectful and sensitive manner.
- Remind clients to take prescribed medications on time, and where qualified, assist with administration following care plans.
- Uphold the highest standards of privacy, confidentiality, and dignity when supporting clients, respecting their rights and individual preferences.
- Observe and report any changes in client health or behaviour to the relevant supervisor to ensure timely and appropriate care.
- Work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and overnight as needed, with the ability to choose hours that best fit your lifestyle.
What We Are Looking For:
- Certificate III or higher in Disability, Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent, preferred.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check
- NSW Driver’s License, comprehensive insurance and access to reliable transport
- A caring, patient, and respectful approach to client support
- Previous experience in disability or aged care (essential if you do not hold an industry qualification)
