As the Clinical Director you will oversee the operations of the Clinical department and the delivery of quality/best practice clinical services. Tracks and trends information obtained through performance improvement activities and uses information gained for quality improvement.

- Serve as a leader to the clinical teams by providing support, guidance and information. Administrator on Call as required.
- Maintain current knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements and share with staff to ensure their understanding of and adherence to these requirements.
- Ensure the program operates in compliance with the laws and regulations of federal, state and local agencies, the standards, rules and regulations of various accrediting and approval agencies, including Joint Commission and according to current narrative/schedule, admission/discharge criteria and all other applicable policies, procedures and plans.
- Monitor units and program functioning through attendance at staffing/team meetings and management by walking around.
- Provide reports as required to administration and external funding and regulatory entities.
- Reviews appropriateness of admissions.
- Respond to complaints from patient, family member or staff regarding clinical services, or delegates this responsibility to the appropriate clinical staff person in accordance with the patient's confidentiality/rights.
- Assure that psychosocial assessment, individual, family, specialized and group therapy is provided in accordance with clinical guidelines and modalities recognized and accepted by the behavioral health field.
- Maintain oversight of direct clinical practice ensuring therapists and ancillary clinical staff creates and follow an individualized treatment plan per patient. Work with nursing, clinical and medical staff to determine when specialized assessments are needed for patients.
- Oversee documentation of clinical services to ensure they meet all standards.
- Develop new programs as requested.
- Modify existing programs using feedback received from clinical and nursing staff, patients, referral sources and other involved entities to improve service effectiveness, availability and delivery.
- Research and implement best practice program models.
- Actively participate in strategic planning and budget development.
- In conjunction with the Executive Director, formulate flexible staffing plan for clinical programs.
- Ensure that the program operates within budgetary staffing and expense guidelines.
- Assist with proposal writing when necessary and identify potential funding sources when possible.
- Educate clinical team and staff supervised regarding their operating budget and seek input when preparing for new annual budget.
- Actively participate in Performance Improvement activities per requirements of accreditation, licensure, funding and administration.
- Oversee data collection, analysis, and quality management activities related to performance improvement initiatives.
- Hire, orient, and train and supervise direct report staff.
- Provide a departmental orientation that is specific to the functions of the department and the job responsibilities of the staff member.
Qualifications
Education And Experience:
- Minimum of a Masters Degree in a Behavioral Health discipline or related field.
- Arizona Clinical licensure in good standing or ability to obtain within 90 days post hire. AZ Psychology License accepted in lieu or Arizona Clinical License.
- Minimum of two years experience in supervision / administration in a behavioral health setting.
- Certified by ABBHE to provide Clinical Supervision or obtain within 90 days of employment preferred.
- Minimum of four years experience conducting individual, group and family therapy.
- Good understanding of diagnostic categories and assessment instruments, with ability to develop program and services according to the needs of the patient population served.
- Knowledge of State and accreditation requirements.
