ATX Welding TM/ Welder

Profile

Performs a variety of welding to complete structural repair and fabrication on transmission parts and equipment. Designs and fabricates metal components and structures to improve existing designs and reliability. Inspects and performs routine maintenance on light, heavy and specialized equipment. Analyzes failures and makes recommendations to the Team Lead to prevent similar failures in the future.

Technical Support for Welding TM/Welder

• Secure pre-conditions for production (tool & equipment confirmation)
• Utilizes Standard Work Instructions
• Maintain Production (know & understand production requirements)
• Process quality and provide support as needed to ensure quality of production and products

Position Duties and Responsibilities

• Depth knowledge of welding procedures, tools and equipment used in structural and parts repair of light and heavy equipment. To include knowledge of various types of materials.
• Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards, safety precautions and safety regulations related to the operation of various welding operations.
• Use good communication skills to build teamwork culture.
• Using logic and reasoning to understand, analyze and evaluate situations and exercise good judgment to diagnose and repair light and heavy equipment as well variety of automotive parts and materials.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements

• 3 or more years of operator experience in machine or welding shop
• Experience with general measuring instruments
• Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment is a plus
• Experience in a cross-cultural working environment is a plus

Desired Skills and Characteristics

• Mechanical aptitude
• Must be able to interpret part drawings
• 6 axis robot experience
• Willingness to learn
• Ability to safely handle various tools
• Knowledge, use and understanding of general-purpose measuring instruments
• Basic math skills

Required Working Conditions

• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Ability to work rotating shifts
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
