As a Sr. Line Cook you are responsible for the daily preparation and cooking of food items in the pantry, fry and/or stations or other areas of the kitchen. This position is responsible for other duties in the areas of food and final plate presentation including plating and garnishing of cooked items.

Requirements:

Holder of valid and current Food Handler Certification

Description/Day-To-Day

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and cooks to order foods requiring short preparation time.
  • Reads food order or receives verbal instructions on food required by patron and prepares and cooks food according to instructions.
  • Typically, performs made to order cooking and grill cooking duties in preparing food items to be served to customers.
  • Follows basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other foodstuffs for consumption in eating establishments.
  • Prepares foods by operating a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, washing, peeling, cutting and shredding fruits and vegetables, and trimming and cutting meat, poultry or fish for culinary use.
  • Tastes products, reads menus, estimates food requirements, checks production, and keeps records in order to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment.
  • May select recipes per menu cycle, prepare bakery items, receive inventory, move and lift food items and supplies and prepare meals for customers requiring special diets.
  • May clean and sanitize workstations and equipment and must follow all company, client and regulatory rules and procedures.
  • Set steam tables; serve or ensure proper serving of food.

Key Qualifications

Previous Line Cook experience

  • 1-4 years high volume food service – preferably larger, innovative corporate programsMay also be food and beverage experience in a full-service hotel, resort, or multi-restaurant chain
  • You must be approachable with a service orientated mentality skills, displayed in your experience in food, hospitality, and/or other service industries.
  • Communication skills are essential for this role in order to champion a healthy team environment and to interact with guests, leaders, vendors and employees.

Education And Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Basic level knowledge of health and safety rules
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Pay: From $20.80 per hour
  • Expected hours: 32 per week
