A Brief Overview

Oversees physical plant and grounds upkeep, construction, remodeling, and preventive maintenance. Leads the activities that provide services of storage, delivery, central processing, and distribution of supplies to facilitate the effective operations of the facility.

What you will do

  • Establishes and participates in the facility’s preventive maintenance program on buildings and equipment.
  • Monitors, upgrades and performs repairs and maintenance on all fixed and movable equipment.
  • Inspects, repairs, tests, and maintains the following systems: domestic water, sanitation/sewer, fire protection, exhaust, air handling, hot water heat, heating/cooling, emergency power, pneumatic air control, propane delivery, nurse call system, and cable TV.
  • Collaborates with other department managers for safe, infection free facility through ongoing training and new hire orientation of life safety codes such as fire and disaster plans.
  • Schedules and organizes routine fire/evacuation drills according to state and federal requirements. Solicits outside resources for in-service training as needed.
  • Assists in transferring residents to and from the facility for medical appointments.
  • Issues current MSDS information to department managers for posting and oversees proper bio-hazard waste disposal and removal from facility.
  • Performs or delegates duties on the upkeep of grounds such as tree trimming, mowing and snow removal as required for resident, staff, and visitor safety.
  • Administers material management program in accordance with corporate policies and procedures to ensure adequate inventory supply levels are on hand to foster smooth work flow of all departments.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • Some College One to two years of vocational education in service oriented area related to mechanical, electrical and plumbing operations or five years of experience in related area required.
  • Drivers License - Licensing Board
