To be considered for this role, you will need to be an experienced (GMP, TJA) manufacturing manager within either medicinal cannabis, food, FMCG, agricultural or pharmaceutical industries. You must have proven ability to proactively lead a diverse, engaged and high-performance workforce that delivers results across all facets of manufacturing, post-harvest, cultivation and quality assurance.
About The Role
Reporting to the CEO, the Manufacturing Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end manufacturing operations including quality assurance, post-harvest cultivation, operations and compliance with TGA and GMP. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our operations meet the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and safety, while aligning with our commercial goals.
This role requires a hands-on leader who can strategically guide manufacturing operations while also rolling up their sleeves and stepping onto the floor to support the team when needed.
Role Expectations
- Develop and execute manufacturing strategies to achieve production, cost, quality, and delivery goals.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
- Align operations with company objectives, customer needs, and regulatory requirements, including GMP, TGA, and other relevant industry standards.
- Forecast and plan resource needs (people, equipment, materials) to meet current and future demand.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring production targets and standards are met—stepping in hands-on when required.
- Manage and support QA, Post Harvest, Cultivation, and Operations teams through leadership, coaching, and performance management.
- Troubleshoot operational challenges and implement corrective actions using production metrics (output, yield, downtime, waste).
- Ensure compliance with workplace health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and high team engagement.
About You
- Proven experience in a manufacturing leadership role within a TGA and GMP regulated environment.
- Proven leadership in either pharmaceutical, plant-based medicine, FMCG or food manufacturing
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, able to build high performance teams, safety and culture.
- Able to effectively lead teams through transformation, new technologies, or process changes.
- Commercial acumen with a results-driven mindset, understanding cost drivers, margins, and business impacts of manufacturing decisions
- Experience managing operational budgets and commercial performance.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Excellent communication and staff engagement skills that champion and encourage innovation, compassion, accountability, collaboration and good vibes.
