About The Role
As General Manager, you will play a key role in leading and managing PsychPhys Programs and Services. Reporting directly to the Director, you will work closely with Client Program Team Leaders to ensure high-quality service delivery and outcomes for our clients.
You’ll be responsible for setting strategic plans, managing budgets, and coordinating activities across departments to achieve organisational goals. This role is also accountable for monitoring performance, identifying opportunities for improvement, and reporting key results to the company Directive.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Management
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Client Services Team, ensuring smooth and effective service delivery.
- Develop and deliver an annual Operational Plan that drives strategic goals, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Provide direct leadership and mentoring to Team Leaders, supporting them to achieve their objectives.
- Actively contribute as a collaborative and solutions-focused member of the Leadership Team.
- Participate in strategic planning, reporting, and KPI monitoring to ensure alignment with organisational priorities.
- Prepare and present monthly operational reports to the Director, highlighting outcomes and opportunities.
- Monitor and maintain the Risk Register, acting as the first responder for incident and risk management.
Financial Stewardship
- Partner with the Finance Team to ensure service excellence and effective financial management.
- Lead the operational budget forecast and manage provider contracts.
- Support the development of budgets for new programs, projects, and events.
- Deliver timely and accurate monthly operational financial reports.
Service Excellence, Compliance & Quality
- Champion the implementation of Quality Management Systems across all programs.
- Lead the rollout of the 2025–2028 Service Excellence Framework, embedding high standards across the organisation.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement to consistently exceed industry standards and benchmarks.
- Build and sustain a strong, values-driven team environment that reflects PsychPhys’ vision.
- Lead and delegate authority for the recruitment of operational staff.
- Promote a safe, supportive, and thriving workplace where staff can perform at their best.
- Drive team performance through effective planning, goal setting, and the use of clear KPI metrics.
Qualifications and Safety Screening: Requirements
- 5+ years demonstrated experience in a General manager role, or equivalent
- Experience working in senior leadership role within community/disability services (advantageous)
- Experience building and maintaining professional stakeholder relationships
- Demonstrated ability to identify operational improvements and influencing others to drive change
- Ability to build a strong sense of team ownership and maintain a high level of staff morale
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Advanced skills in computer software and reporting templates
- Demonstrated experience Managing multi-site programs
- Strong understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (advantageous)
Appointment to this position is subject to the satisfactory completion of Safety Screening to requirements including, but not limited to:
- National Police Criminal Check
- Valid and up-to-date Working with Children Check
- Verification of unrestricted work rights in Australia, e.g. citizenship, passport or birth certificate
- Certified copies of qualifications
- Current Driver's License and access to a Vehicle
