Requirements
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Junior Data Scientist to join our analytics and AI-driven team. The ideal candidate will bring foundational experience in Machine Learning (ML) and Natural Language Processing (NLP), with a strong interest in solving real-world problems using data. In this role, you will contribute to building intelligent systems, analyzing complex datasets, and developing predictive models that power innovative solutions. With 1+ years of hands-on experience, you will support senior data scientists and engineers in delivering projects that enhance business decisions and create customer value.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Collection & Preprocessing
- Gather, clean, and preprocess structured and unstructured datasets for analysis and modeling.
- Apply NLP techniques such as tokenization, stemming, lemmatization, and vectorization to text data.
- Manage large datasets and ensure data quality, consistency, and accuracy.
- Machine Learning & NLP Model Development
- Assist in developing, training, and fine-tuning ML and NLP models for tasks like classification, clustering, recommendation, and sentiment analysis.
- Support the deployment of models into production environments in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Conduct feature engineering, model evaluation, and hyperparameter tuning.
- Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA)
- Use statistical techniques and visualization tools to identify trends, correlations, and insights.
- Provide data-driven recommendations for business strategies and product improvements.
- Research & Innovation
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in ML, NLP, deep learning, and AI frameworks.
- Experiment with state-of-the-art algorithms like transformers, word embeddings, and neural networks.
- Contribute fresh ideas and innovative approaches to ongoing projects.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with senior data scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders to understand project requirements.
- Translate complex technical findings into clear, actionable insights for non-technical teams.
- Document workflows, models, and processes to ensure reproducibility and knowledge sharing.
- Testing & Optimization
- Validate models against test data and monitor their performance post-deployment.
- Optimize models for accuracy, scalability, and efficiency.
- Support troubleshooting of production issues and suggest improvements.
Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 1+ year of experience in data science, with exposure to ML and NLP projects.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Python and libraries like Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- Strong understanding of NLP techniques such as embeddings, transformers (BERT, GPT), and text classification.
- Familiarity with SQL and data querying.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus.
- Analytical Abilities: Strong problem-solving skills, statistical knowledge, and an eye for detail.
- Soft Skills: Effective communication, teamwork, adaptability, and eagerness to learn.
