Position Overview:
Payroll Officer, Sydney
Civeo is a workforce accommodation specialist dedicated to helping people maintain healthy, productive and connective lives while living and working away from home. This key role with one of the world’s largest integrated providers of workforce accommodation is to take responsibility for accurately calculating and making payments of wages and salaries and to ensure all related records are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring all permanent and casual staff are paid according to their contract and award
- Providing payroll-related advice to all staff
- Preparation and processing of high-volume fortnightly payroll using ADP, Kronos, and Oracle
- Processing of new starters / termination payments / bonus reconciliation
- Payroll reporting, month end preparations and payments / End of Financial Year processing
- Ensuring legislative compliance
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of dedicated payroll experience
- High volume payroll environment
- Sound working knowledge of employment legislation and enterprise agreements
- Experience to include both salaried and hourly paid employees
Skills:
- Ability to interpret relevant awards and legislation
- Advanced Excel skills
- Logical reasoning and data analysis ability
- Strong customer service attitude and confident communication skills

- Accurately calculate and process payroll for all employees, including hourly, salaried, and contract workers.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations regarding payroll.
- Maintain and update employee records, including personal details, tax information, and payroll history.
- Process and manage payroll-related inquiries and requests from employees and managers.
- Reconcile payroll data with other financial systems to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Generate and distribute payroll reports as required by management and stakeholders.
- Stay updated on payroll trends, best practices, and technological advancements to enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate with the HR team to ensure smooth payroll operations and address any employee-related issues.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining payroll policies and procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service to employees and resolve payroll-related concerns promptly.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll administration or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processing, including understanding of various payment methods and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in using payroll software and MS Office applications, especially Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately with large volumes of data.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with employees and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with HR systems and practices is an asset.
- A degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
