Koniag Professional Services (KPS) is seeking a highly professional and experienced Senior Governance Analyst to support the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering (USW(R&E)) Chief Digital and AI Office (CDAO) Governance Council. This individual will serve as the operational backbone of the council, ensuring its efficient and effective operation in a high-stakes environment. The role is responsible for seamless coordination among senior Department of War (DoW) stakeholders and requires the ability to prepare materials for and confidently brief senior executives and Flag Officers. You will play a key role in driving the council's agenda and facilitating data-driven decision-making across the DoW enterprise.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
• Council Facilitation: Coordinate, schedule, and facilitate all meetings of the USW(R&E) CDAO Governance Council, ensuring they are productive and aligned with strategic War priorities.
• Executive Briefings: Prepare, consolidate, and deliver concise, high-impact briefings and decision packages for senior executives and Flag Officers on council activities, data issues, and strategic initiatives.
• Stakeholder Coordination & Communication: Serve as the primary liaison for the Governance Council, facilitating communication and coordinating activities with key stakeholders across the Office of the Secretary of War (OSW), the Military Departments, and other DoW components.
• Documentation & Record Keeping: Capture, formalize, and circulate detailed meeting minutes, key decisions, and action items. Maintain the official repository for all council documentation, policies, and standards in accordance with DoW record-keeping requirements.
• Action Item Tracking: Monitor and track the status of all action items and initiatives assigned by the council, following up with responsible parties to ensure completion and providing regular status updates to senior leadership.
• Analytical Support: Analyze and synthesize complex information related to data issues, policy exception requests, and strategic initiatives to provide the council with the necessary context for informed decision-making.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, National Security Studies, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• 5+ years of experience in a support analyst, project coordination, or staff officer role.
• Proven experience working within the Department of War (DoW) or a similar large-scale federal government environment.
• Demonstrated experience preparing materials for and briefing senior leaders, executives, and/or Flag Officers.
• Exceptional organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a high degree of attention to detail in all work products.
• An active Secret security clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Direct experience supporting senior leaders within the USW(R&E), CDAO, or other OSW components.
• Familiarity with DoW data governance frameworks and strategic documents.
• Experience with collaboration and task management tools used within the DoW, such as SharePoint, Confluence, Jira, or CATMS.
• An active Top Secret (TS) or TS/SCI security clearance.
