Our Internal Communications team works in strategic partnership across the business, enabling and influencing business outcomes through effective communications advice.
In this role, you will be leading a team of internal communications professionals, championing the function across the business to embed its position as a community of expertise and best practice hub in telling the BNZ story.

We sat down with our General Manager, Corporate Affairs (who you’d report to) and he let us know the following about the Senior Sustainability Advisor tūranga (role):
What are 5 day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?
- Lead the continuous development and delivery of effective, engaging and measurable internal communications strategies through campaigns and initiatives focused on the BNZ’s strategic priorities.
- Continually seek innovative and world leading best practice communications technologies and initiatives to enhance the BNZ Colleague workplace communications experience.
- Lead a team of internal communications professionals, championing the function across the business to embed its position as a community of expertise and best practice hub in sharing the BNZ story.
- Deliver advice, counsel and support to core areas of the BNZ business, the executive team and leadership groups as their internal communications business partner and trusted advisor

What projects / work will the candidate be working on now and into the next year?
This role will be responsible for supporting the enterprise to drive continuous and measurable improvement in colleague engagement and connection to BNZ’s purpose and strategic ambition.
From financial results, to supporting the CEO and senior execs, to crafting product launches and owning our internal presence – there’ll be opportunities to keep even the hungriest of communication professionals busy.

What do we want you to know before you apply?
To be successful in this role you will be a natural leader with extensive experience in senior communications or journalism roles. You will have experience in complex corporate environments with a background managing strategic and high-risk scenarios. You will have a proven understanding of the role of social media and digital platforms in delivering effective corporate communications and know how to maximise their value to the organisation.
You will have outstanding communication and stakeholder management experience allowing you to effectively influence across the business and build strong relationships with all levels of seniority.
