OPEN RANK POSITION IN ROBOTICS AND EMBEDDED SYSTEMS

Description

Fulbright University Vietnam invites applications for an open-rank position in Robotics and Embedded Systems for its Human Centered Engineering Program. Interest and a strong background in Computer Vision, Control Systems, and Physical AI are a plus. The Human Centered Engineering program is uniquely positioned at the intersection of engineering, liberal arts, and design thinking. Designed to align with international engineering accreditation standards such as ABET, the program offers an integrative and hands-on curriculum that fosters both cognitive and emotional intelligence. With its emphasis on automation, robotics, systems integration, and product innovation, the HCE program produces students who are trained to identify human needs, formulate engineering problems, and implement viable solutions that consider social, environmental, and economic contexts.

Fulbright Vietnam seeks scholars and educators who care deeply about developing students as engaged learners and citizens, working in a transdisciplinary environment, and participating in a start-up university environment.

Successful candidates are expected to teach 5 courses per academic year including Core courses, such foundational and intermediate courses as Design and Systems Thinking, Introduction to Robotics, Embedded Systems Design, Control Systems, and Physical AI and Human-Robot Interaction, as well as advising undergraduate student research projects and capstone experiences. Faculty are also encouraged and supported in pursuing external research funding and in working with Fulbright’s new Artificial Intelligence Institute. Successful candidates should have demonstrated excellence in both teaching and research, as well as a desire to work with and develop undergraduate students.

Qualifications

Candidates are expected to have completed a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a closely related field by the time of employment. Demonstrated expertise in at least two of the following areas is a plus: robotics, embedded systems, computer vision, control systems, and physical AI.
