Interoperability Manager I position within the UNH Interoperability Lab's Datacenter Group will focus on blockchain technology. The role is primarily technical and includes developing smart contract testing methods, performing smart contract auditing, generating reports, creating training programs for new hires, and managing student technicians. The position supports both internal development and external collaboration efforts.

Duties/Responsibilities

Blockchain Development and Smart Contract Auditing (60%)

  • Conduct research and development of testing methods and tools for blockchain technologies.
  • Audit smart contracts and produce detailed technical reports.
  • Collaborate with external partners, including the New Hampshire Blockchain Council and the Secretary of State, to support initiatives such as the DAO Registry under HB645.
  • Integrate Web2 and Web3 technologies in development projects, utilizing JavaScript frameworks such as React and Next.js, along with blockchain libraries like Ethers.js.

Education and Training (20%)

  • Assist colleagues in developing a training and education course to train future technicians to become blockchain developers.
  • Assist to create an educational course for non-students (general public) in blockchain technology and cryptocurrency related applications and use cases.

Technician Management (20%)

  • Along with the training resources, this position will also require the management of at least 3 technicians who are either in the process of learning blockchain technologies to become part of the auditing team, or who are already part of the auditing team within the UNH-IOL

Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field and 2 years of experience in blockchain or related fields.
  • Experience with testing frameworks such as Foundry, Hardhat, common debuggers.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:​

  • Proficient in several programming languages, in particular JavaScript, Solidity, Python, and Rust.
  • Communication skills which allow the individual to communicate with engineers and communicate ideas to non- technical individuals.
