Nature Of Work

The Department of Ophthalmology is seeking applicants to fill a full time (1.0 FTE) faculty position at the Assistant Professor level at the UCHealth Sue Anschutz-Rodgers (SAR) Eye Center and future site at Medical Center of the Rockies in Northern Colorado.  The position will provide outpatient medical management of uveitis and ocular inflammatory disease, comprehensive eye care and surgery, and hospitalist consults.

Professional Field

MD with approved residency training in ophthalmology including fellowship training in Uveitis.

Supervision Received

The position will report directly to Alan G Palestine, MD, Professor, Department of Ophthalmology.

Supervision Exercised

Position exercises no formal supervision. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct patient care at UCHealth Sue Anschutz-Rodgers (SAR) Eye Center and future site at Medical Center of the Rockies in Northern Colorado in the medical management of ophthalmic disorders and specifically of ocular inflammation. 
  • Provide comprehensive eye care and surgery at Sue Anschutz Rodgers Eye Center and at and future site at Medical Center of the Rockies in Northern Colorado
  • Perform hospitalist consults with residents.
  • Actively collaborate with other teams within the department in the development of diagnosis and therapy for other inflammation-related ocular diseases.

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:

Assistant Professor

  • MD with approved residency training in ophthalmology including fellowship training in uveitis and ocular inflammation
  • Extensive experience in managing ocular inflammation
  • Comprehensive eye care and ophthalmic surgical experience

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:

  • Knowledge and proficiency in clinical management of uveitis and ocular inflammation

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:


Assistant Professor: $200,000 to $350,000

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
