Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in molecular biology, fungal genetics, or closely related field. Experience with research activities related to molecular biology, fungal genetics and bioinformatics. Experience in operating equipment, carrying out test procedures, and using special methods for data collation and interpretation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in molecular biology or fungal genetics.
Brief Description of Duties:
Within defined test or analytical protocols, operate equipment, carry out test procedures, as well as collate and interpret data using special methods in support of a research project or program for Dr. Maurizio Del Poeta in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology.
The successful incumbent will have excellent interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational and time-management skills with exceptional attention to detail. Essential for this role is the adeptness to work independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving.
Duties:
- Conduct experiments; provide technical laboratory support, and/or animal handling to assist with experiments conducted.
- Perform literature search; staying current in the field by reading and discussing the literature and experimental results with the supervisor and/or PI.
- Collect data, record observations measurements and prepare reports for review of supervisor and or PI.
- Other duties as assigned.
