Department Management:
- Provide daily leadership for the team to execute on their core tasks, risk framework and goals.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and business partners across Operations, Sales & Trading, Legal & Compliance
- Foster a culture of continued process improvement, innovation and strategy
- Business Continuity Planning and Resilience
- Maintenance of SOP's, BCP plans, RCSA, Depth charts, Cost allocations etc.
- Recruitment and hiring as appropriate, with an ongoing focus on succession planning and candidate identification.
- Position the team for future growth, with a focus on automation and technology enhancements to generate capacity and scalability.
Leadership:
- Develop direct reports for future leadership positions and enhance career development plans.
- Drive talent and goal management for the department, including, staff reviews, performance management. Set a culture to ensure each staff member receives quality personal development conversations. E.g., regular 121s, career conversations.
- Promote Diversity and Inclusion in hiring, retention and opportunities for growth.
- Partner with the global team to ensure consistency and provide support across locations where required.
- Provide career coaching and development across the Department
- Educate the global team on the Bangalore market and processing nuances.
Control & Risk Management:
- Ensure all controls and processes within the department's responsibility are completed to a first-class standard, following a robust supervisory framework, with a key focus on meeting and driving improvement in adherence to regulatory requirements
- Identify issues, red flags and mobilize the team and other involved groups to identify root cause and remediation plans.
- Maintain a culture which encourages scrutiny and challenge, inspiring the team to continually question and evolve their processes in line with the requirements of the Firm.
- Ensure deadlines are met and escalate any issues or changes, which challenge this.
- Provide accurate and timely escalations to functional and regional management where appropriate, bringing in stakeholders where necessary
- Timely escalation of issues to key stakeholders and business partners to ensure effective resolution
Innovation And Continuous Improvement:
- Drive execution of the Department's strategic projects, encouraging participation and engagement across the team. Instill a culture of innovation.
- Actively engage and partner with global product owners to articulate department automation and tooling needs and drive prioritization
- Ensure the teams are actively seeking out opportunities to improve their processes, ensuring controls are carried out as efficiently as possible
Client Service
- Instill a strong culture of client service, encouraging timely and quality responses and follow up.
- Partner with the Client Operations organization to implement client service best practice and appropriate tooling.
- Provide a senior point of escalation and expertise for interactions and escalations with focus clients.
Ensure the accurate and timely reporting of all key stakeholder outputs and management reporting:
- Oversight of the Production and Development of Management Information
- Oversight of the Production of Metrics and Stakeholder Packs
- Present regular updates to Business stakeholders on key risks, issues and innovation.
- Ensure the quality and timeliness of all outputs of the team are to the required standard > You have prior experience leading Operations teams at a senior level, preferably with experience of Secured Financing Transactions.
- You are focused on promoting diversity and inclusion across your teams.
- You set high standards and stretch goals to develop high performing teams and individuals, creating or identifying challenging opportunities to develop employees. You are skilled in navigating personal development conversations with your team.
- You possess strong technical knowledge of derivatives, securities and related processes
- You are experienced with Microsoft Office, in particular MS Excel, Outlook Powerpoint, (preferably Alteryx, PowerBI, Dynamics).
- You display a well-developed ability to comprehend and process complex data and are comfortable handling detailed technical information.
- You anticipate problems/obstacles and understand the implications to the business. You offer workable commercial solutions.
- You skillfully identify problems, build solutions and apply lessons learnt.
- In challenging situations, you can make timely, sound and commercially focused decisions balancing risk, opportunity and cost.
- You challenge assumptions and actively look for ways to enhance and develop processes and procedures, creating a strong and dynamic risk management culture.
- You mobilize cross-functional teams to resolve issues, using both tactical and strategic solutions.
- You partner and collaborate with your peers to present one team to business unit and stakeholders
- You actively leverage networks and use initiative to expand own and others understanding of front to back business process and technology.
