Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Complete 5/10 year employment screenings for new starters and TUPE transfers, ensuring authorisation before employment/training begins.
  • Ensure all new employees are screened within 12 weeks of starting.
  • Maintain accurate and complete personnel records (paper and digital).
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct financial and, where applicable, Basic Checks through Scottish Disclosure.
  • Input screening details into relevant systems and maintain your qualifications as a ‘Screener’.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service, resolving complaints efficiently.
  • Liaise with the Screening Controller on cases where screening may not be completed within the 12-week timeframe.
  • Promote best practices, process accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all completed screening files are scanned and saved appropriately.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Valid Right to Work in the UK.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Robust administrative skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate excellent stakeholder relationships. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Five-year checkable employment history (or documentary evidence of any gaps).

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a compliance/ Screening or Vetting environment.
