We're looking for a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join the OTT Live team at Axel Springer National Media & Tech. Our team is responsible for building and maintaining the core services that power live streaming for major media brands like BILD and WELT. We focus on delivering robust, high-availability solutions for live events, FAST channels, and monetization through server-side ad insertion. If you're a hands-on engineer with significant professional experience and a strong background in DevOps, agile methodologies, and multiple programming languages, we'd love to hear from you.

Job Description

• you design, build, test, deploy and operate production services end to end in an agile, self-managed, product-focused team
• you develop and evolve our microservice ecosystem, creating new services that are observable, resilient and horizontally scalable
• you raise the quality bar by writing lean, well-tested code (unit, integration, acceptance) and using BDD where it adds value
• you automate everything by codifying infrastructure and delivery (GitOps/CI/CD) to boost speed with the right guardrails
• you keep production healthy by instrumenting metrics, logs and traces, and turning incidents into learning

Qualifications

• you have significant professional experience in delivering software
• you bring depth in one or two areas: backend, data, observability, cloud and strong secondary skills across others - connecting dots across the stack
• you are hands-on across the lifecycle - from requirements and design to implementation, testing and operations
• you have significant experience in at least two of the following : Agile/Lean, BDD, DevOps/GitOps, multiple programming languages or Flutter/UI development
• you learn fast and stay pragmatic - choosing the right tool for the job
