Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President to serve as the Interlock Lead in our Banking and Capital Markets practice. This strategic role focuses on fostering seamless collaboration across internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions that accelerate business outcomes. The Interlock Lead will act as a pivotal connector, ensuring alignment between advisory, technology, and operations services while driving client engagement and revenue growth. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, client relationship management, and business acumen to achieve ambitious growth targets in a fast-paced financial landscape. They’re also responsible for enabling communication between clients, other EXL business units, internal support staff, as well as multi-functional and multi-shore project teams. This position may require frequent travel to client sites in the U.S.
- Client Engagement and Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients in banking and capital markets. Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic discussions, identifying client needs, pain points, and opportunities for value creation through proactive engagement and consultative advising.
- Technical Proposal Development: Lead the creation and delivery of comprehensive technical proposals tailored to client requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., technology architects, risk analysts, and compliance experts) to design innovative solutions, including data modernization, digital transformation initiatives, fintech integrations, and capital optimization strategies. Ensure proposals are technically sound, competitively priced, and aligned with industry’s best practices.
- Account Growth Monitoring: Oversee the performance and expansion of assigned client accounts. Utilize data analytics and performance metrics to track key indicators such as client satisfaction, project delivery timelines, and service utilization. Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to inform strategic adjustments and ensure sustained account health.
- Revenue Growth and Target Achievement: Drive revenue expansion by identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities, negotiating contracts, and implementing growth strategies. Achieve or exceed a 20% year-over-year (YOY) revenue increase for managed accounts through targeted initiatives, such as expanding service offerings, entering new market segments, or leveraging emerging technologies like AI and blockchain in capital markets.
- Interlock Leadership: Facilitate interlock mechanisms between internal practices, including advisory, technology, and operations, to ensure cohesive delivery of client solutions. Coordinate with global teams to resolve interdependencies, mitigate silos, and promote knowledge sharing for enhanced efficiency and innovation.
- Market Intelligence and Thought Leadership: Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes (e.g., GDPR; BCBS239; AML, KYC; Mifid II; Basel IV, ESG requirements), and competitive landscapes in banking and capital markets. Contribute to thought leadership through whitepapers, webinars, and client presentations to position the firm as a market leader.
- Team Mentoring and Development: Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative culture. Provide guidance on client management, proposal crafting, and growth strategies to build a high-performing team.
Experience:
Minimum of 15+ years in banking, capital markets, or financial consulting, with at least 5 years in a leadership or client-facing role. Proven track record in managing multimillion-dollar accounts, driving revenue growth, and leading cross-functional teams. Experience in interlock or integration roles within professional services firms is highly desirable.
Skills:
- Deep knowledge of banking and capital markets operations, including trading, risk management, regulatory compliance, and digital transformation.
- Strong technical acumen in areas such as fintech, data analytics, cloud computing, and AI applications in finance.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in proposal writing and making technical workflows.
- Analytical mindset with experience in performance metrics, forecasting, and achieving revenue targets.
- Ability to thrive in a matrixed organization, managing multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Demonstrates strong understanding of the types of technology/tools available and how these are used in Enterprise Data Management (EDM) solutions. This includes an understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of leading technologies/ tools such that they can have a meaningful discussion of such with clients and team members.
- Modifies the EXL methodology to fit the needs of the client, enhance value to the client, and maintain/enhance profitability of the engagement.
- Is effective in a variety of formal project and external presentation/meeting settings: one-on-ones, small and large groups, with peers, direct reports, and superiors.
- Conducts internal training courses and can effectively adapt to the level of the course attendees.
- Is willing and capable of taking on conflict resolution within an account with internal and/or external resources.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the overall supervision of the staff on their engagements. They are responsible for coaching and advising the team on the engagement and providing feedback to the line managers and competency leads of the resources on their engagement teams. This position could lead team members and be responsible for setting goals, conducting one on one and formal evaluations.
