Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking qualified candidates for an Experienced Senior Mineral Processing Designer. This position requires an individual with broad mining and mineral processing experience, some combination of operations, engineering, and corporate office experience is a plus, as well as proven technical competencies to support our industrial and mining sectors.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical and economic solutions related to mining, mineral processing, and financial analysis. Willingness to lead and manage successful team projects, be a technical lead on multi-disciplinary projects, build a team, and perform business development functions of existing and new clients are desirable.
Experience in aggregates, industrial minerals, and large multi-disciplinary project management are a plus and should be highlighted in your resume and application.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Aggregates & Industrial Minerals Discipline Lead
- Diverse background on industrial and mining projects, past career focus in aggregates, mineral processing (dry and wet), cost estimation, flow sheet analysis and financial justification is a plus.
- Ability to interpret and direct others in AggFlow or similar packages and generate simple flow sheets.
- Provide experience based solutions through strong operational and project-based experience.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills demonstrable through the reporting and presentation process.
- Assist in developing and expanding our services with new and existing clients.
- Manage tasks and direct and develop our staff as required.
- Capability to develop project budgets, determine project scope, establish schedules, process appropriate paperwork, and interacting with clients.
- Ability and desire to engage in business development (e.g. develop proposals and identify project opportunities) with a focus on external relationships and key clients in the US.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Understanding of contracts and engineering delivery methods and various pricing structures for projects.
- Attention to detail and strong QA/QC skills.
- Understanding of project related risks.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
- An existing and well-established network in the mining industry, aggregate or industrial minerals is a plus.
- Exceptional organizational, technical, leadership, written and oral communication and attention to detail skills.
- Demonstration of innovation of the mining process for past projects or roles
Education And Experience
- Minimum of a B.S. in mining engineering or mineral processing.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience, aggregate or industrial minerals experience is a plus.
- Currently licensed or willingness to pursue a P.E. (Professional Engineer) and/or QP (Qualified Person) during the first two years of employment.
