Microsoft Packaging and Content team is responsible for managing the content creation, artwork development & localization of dynamic and high impact physical & digital media for Microsoft’s portfolio of high-profile international products. Packaging and Content enable brand adherence, design execution, localization, and delivery to the Physical & Digital Supply Chains for manufacturing and publishing – on time, on quality, and on budget. 

Packaging and Content is looking for a Program Manager II with a track record of success spanning multiple release cycles of structural packaging development for devices, and with projects containing critical globalization and localization dependencies.


The ideal candidate excels in strategically planning asset creation and delivery across multiple languages, locales and channels, and feels comfortable operating within a fast moving and complex environment with strong status reporting and communication to all levels of internal partner teams. Use approved AI tools to automate status, risk, change control, and readiness checks—measuring impact via cycle time, first pass quality, and cost to serve.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex, multi-market packaging programs for devices and services, coordinating master creation, localization, and worldwide deployment across print and digital channels.
  • Build and manage integrated launch plans with clear dependencies, change control, risks, and confidentiality standards.
  • Drive world-class quality and production efficiency across pre-production and localization workflows; partner closely with production teams and regional PMs.
  • Operate digital asset management (DAM), product lifecycle management (PLM), and proofing toolchains effectively; triage artwork, pre-press, color, and printing issues with root-cause rigor.
  • Use approved AI tools to automate status, risk, and readiness checks; demonstrate impact via cycle time, first-pass quality, and cost-to-serve improvements.
  • Communicate crisply with stakeholders at all levels; influence decisions to deliver outstanding customer experience at scale.
  • Continuously improve processes and standards, and lead cost-reduction and innovation initiatives across the portfolio.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
  • 1+ year(s) of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AI experience in large enterprise company.
  • Industry recognized certification (e.g. PMI, Six Sigma) in process improvement.
  • Vendor Management experience (in one of the following fields: localization, language quality. assurance, IT development, bespoke process creation and problem solving).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Business Intelligence reporting and data management.

Program Manager - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
