With a vision to “create delightful Windows experiences that empower people and organizations to achieve more,” the Windows Consumer Devices Marketing team drives strategy, growth, and go-to-market execution for Windows devices in partnership with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEMs), silicon partners, and global sales teams. In this role, as Product Marketing Manager, Windows Consumer Devices, you will be accountable for building and executing go-to-market strategies for Windows devices and driving growth across consumer and commercial segments. You will lead pricing, investment, and portfolio strategies that align with Microsoft’s product vision, while also owning the Windows compensable metrics that directly impact field seller compensation and sales execution globally. This highly visible role requires regular engagement with senior leadership up to the VP level and cross-functional collaboration with engineering, sales, finance, and business planning teams.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning & GTM: Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for Windows devices, aligned with long-term product vision and business priorities. Build cohesive business plans that drive growth, increase market share, and capture new opportunities in AI-powered PCs.
  • Compensable Metrics Ownership: Define and own end-to-end Windows compensable metrics, aligning sales compensation with strategic priorities.
  • Partner with Finance and Engineering to ensure accurate reporting and data availability, collaborate with finance and sales to set achievable targets, and partner with senior leadership to land targets successfully.
  • Portfolio & Business Strategy: Lead business planning, offer strategy, and pricing initiatives that leverage market research, analytics, and customer insights. Conduct profitability analysis and business planning to identify growth opportunities, develop detailed financial models, and deliver investment strategies that unlock incremental revenue and partner incentives.
  • Performance Management: Build robust scorecard and performance management processes that track Key Performance Indicators, optimize execution, and drive continuous improvement across the devices business.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work across engineering, finance, sales, and business planning to align strategies, ensure execution, and deliver results. Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners (OEMs, silicon providers) to achieve shared objectives.
  • Executive Storytelling & Influence: Present insights, plans, and recommendations to senior leadership up to VP level, distilling complex data into clear, actionable strategies that drive decision-making.
  • Thought Leadership & Market Insights: Leverage market research, analytics, and partner input to shape strategy and inform business planning. Provide thought leadership on the future of Windows devices and adoption, influencing product and sales direction.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in business OR Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 2+ years experience in business OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years experience in financial modeling, opportunity sizing, data-driven strategy development, and performance management processes.
 Additional or preferred qualifications 
  • Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 3+ years experience in business OR Bachelor's Degree in in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 5+ years experience in business OR equivalent experience.

Product Marketing IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $85,100 - $169,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $112,000 - $185,300 per year.
