The CSCP organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as plan, source, make, deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), sustainability, and decommissioning of datacenter assets worldwide. Microsoft Cloud Planning (MCP) is the central planning function within CSCP focused on forecasting, demand planning, and supply planning for all Microsoft Cloud services and associated hardware, directly impacting the success of Microsoft's cloud business.

Responsibilities
- Buffer target planning & optimization: Lead monthly planning cycles to generate and publish optimal buffer targets by executing planning models, conducting analysis, providing explanations to stakeholders to build an alignment, and implementing changes to improve buffer plan.
- Buffer planning continuous improvement: Drive continuous improvement of buffer planning models and processes by partnering with cross-functional teams, such as Server Planning, Engineering Group, Finance and Data Science, to align on evolving business needs and deliver scalable, data-driven solutions.
- Addressing capacity risks and opportunities: Assess the current buffer planning process and mechanism, identify limitations and gaps in relation to the growing business complexity, and develop interim and long-term solutions to mitigate business risks. • Metrics development & control: Develop metrics to measure the effectiveness of buffer planning, conduct data analysis to identify risks and opportunities, communicate and share business intelligence with key stakeholders including leadership, and implement solutions to manage buffering levels
- • Business Intelligence generation & decision support: Support various buffer-related inquiries from leadership and stakeholders to navigate the business decision-making, by running what-if simulations and providing clear explanations.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, Information Technology (IT), Business, Operations, Finance, Accounting, Data Science, or related field AND 4+ years supply chain, inventory management or sales operations experience, preferably in planning (demand/supply/forecasting), cloud industry experience, infrastructure, data science, and/or channel management experience
- 2+ years of experience in Data Analysis and Visualization skills (SQL, Python, R, Power BI, Power Pivot, etc.)
- OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Program management skillsets with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience in Finance to communicate the plan change in CapEx impact
- Experience and proficiency in effective communication across multiple leadership levels of an organization
- Ability to work in an ambiguous and fast-moving environment
Demand Planning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
