Job Profile Summary:
The Competence Development Specialist will report to the Team Lead of Competence Development and supports the Distribution Risk unit by promoting salesforce competence in advisory processes, market conduct, and roles of sales staff. Ensures governance of Pre-Transaction Checks and Fit & Proper monitoring. Collaborates with Risk, L&D, and Distribution teams to deliver learning and coaching, while building strong relationships across the salesforce.
Job Description:
- Promote awareness on standards with focus on Sales Advisory Process, Market Conduct, and Roles & Responsibilities of Sales Representatives and Supervisors
- Review existing execution methodology and propose ideas and enhancements to improve effectiveness
- Closely monitor and ensure seamless end to end process of Pre-Transaction Checks (PTC) for One Agency’s new business submission and organize outsource capabilities to determine areas of weakness for remediation and quality improvement
- Coordinate the submission of Fit and Proper (F&P) Monitoring requirements and updating representatives in the PTC and F&P monitoring register
- Closely monitor representatives to ensure the
- Identify and analyze key trends, highlighting any areas of concern that require attention and escalation to the relevant stakeholders for prompt remediation
- Participate in ad-hoc projects and initiatives
Who We Are Looking For:
Competencies & Personal Traits
- Knowledgeable in regulatory compliance requirements of the Financial Advisers Act and the Life Insurance Association of Singapore
- Exposure in working with sales representatives in a MAS regulated environment
- Familiarity in Needs-Based Sales Advisory Process
- Independent and willing learner
- Collaborative and personable team player
- High attention to details
Working Experience:
- 4 to 5 years of relevant work experience in an insurance company, bank or other MAS-regulated financial institution
Education / Professional Qualification:
- Degree / Diploma in any discipline
- Relevant insurance license such CMFAS M5, M9 and HI qualifications will be an advantage
