  • An annual retention payment of £3000 for eligible frontline workers and managers from Grade PO2 – PO7

We are seeking an Advanced Practitioner Occupational Therapist to join Brent’s Reablement Team—an integrated service that combines fast-paced responses to Home First discharges with the delivery of reablement and social care services through a short-term intervention model. The team’s ethos centres on promoting and enabling independence, and we maintain strong working relationships with our partners and colleagues in the hubs and intermediate care services.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist with a background in working with adults with physical disabilities and older people. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the team by providing specialist advice, guidance, and supervision to non-qualified staff (OT Assistants). In addition, the practitioner will have the opportunity to work directly with Brent residents in their homes, carrying out OT assessments and delivering reablement interventions.

The Person

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant professional qualification, such as a Degree or Diploma from the College of Occupational Therapists (or equivalent), and must be currently registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Evidence of recent and relevant Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is also required.

We are looking for a Advanced Practitioner Occupational Therapist with excellent communication skills and experience working in a social care or community-focused multidisciplinary setting. You should have a strong understanding of moving and handling equipment, and be confident in recommending both minor and major adaptations.

You will be passionate about supporting vulnerable adults and committed to delivering high-quality services. Strong skills in multitasking, prioritisation, caseload management, and time management are essential.

This role offers the opportunity to work as part of a multi-skilled team, including Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants and Care Assessors.

The successful candidates will ideally have post graduate experience in Social Care and/or Intermediate Care, have experience of supervising staff and or students in the work place and of working with Home Care providers and/or Reablement providers.
