Territory: South Dakota, Western Iowa, Southwest Minnesota, and Northeast Nebraska
Summary:
To prospect for, develop, and grow Demco accounts. Continuously learns, grows, and develops sales skills. Develops and maintains the working knowledge to efficiently describe products to customers and acquire new accounts in order to grow sales volume. Willingly accepts challenges and strives for continual improvement in all areas with a focus on increasing sales in the territory. Reports to Agricultural Products Sales Manager.
Primary Duties:
- Key focus on selling Demco products by calling on dealer accounts and end customers to create sales opportunities and drive sales growth
- Promotes stocking of Demco products to help facilitate growth for dealer and Demco
- Works trade shows (wholesale and retail) to promote stocking and sale of Demco products
- Works with dealer sales staff to train them and instill confidence in Demco product lines
- Special focus on cold calling potential new accounts – dealers and end-user customers - to sell Demco products
- Must make efficient use of company time and resources by performing sales calls and scheduling appointments using the company CRM system
- Solicitation of sales by making outgoing telephone calls during office weeks.
- Performs office activities including, but not limited to: future sales call planning, setting sales call objectives, reviewing sales forecast, following up from previous sales calls, entering all necessary information into Hubspot CRM, continuing education, and contacting customers by phone, text, and email.
- Fills out Customer Feedback forms addressing product issues to find ways to better serve customers
- Reports new trends, ideas, issues, products and programs to the company via the Customer Feedback process
- Provides market place information and product information via the Customer Feedback form to assist in developing new products, and new sales opportunities
- Reports inventory at the dealer level to compare with competitors’ inventory
- Works to assist customers and dealers any way possible, advertising, literature needs, etc.
- Looks for points of interest on sales calls to personally connect with the dealer
- Writes orders at the end of sales calls
Requirements
- Must have outgoing personality and good with people
- Must be self motivated and driven
- Should have excellent problem solving abilities
- Must have a mechanical aptitude
- Must be a team player with strong communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and office
- 50% Overnight travel is required
- Flexible work schedule is necessary
- Must be detail oriented, personable, and assertive
