Job Description: MCAE/Data Cloud Developer

About the Role:
We are seeking a technically proficient and delivery-focused MCAE/Data Cloud Developer to build and implement the marketing technology solutions designed by our architects. This role is critical in executing the technical build for data unification, personalized marketing automation, and integration tasks. The ideal candidate is hands-on, has deep experience with Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (MCAE) and Salesforce Data Cloud, and is passionate about building scalable, efficient systems that drive marketing performance.

  • Develop, configure, and customize solutions within Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (MCAE), including complex engagement studio programs, scoring models, dynamic lists, and form handlers.
  • Hands-on development and administration within Salesforce Data Cloud, including data ingestion, mapping, transformation, and the creation of unified customer profiles and data model extensions.
  • Build and deploy personalized web experiences using Marketing Cloud Personalization (Interaction Studio) based on architect-defined strategies.
  • Develop and maintain integrations between MCAE, Data Cloud, Sales Cloud, and other systems (e.g., GA4, Demandbase) using APIs (REST/SOAP), connectors, and custom integration patterns.
  • Implement and manage the web data layer and server-side tag management (sGTM) setups to ensure accurate data collection and flow into Data Cloud and other systems.
  • Write and optimize SQL-like queries (SOQL, SAQL) within Data Cloud for data segmentation and insight generation.
  • Implement automated lead nurturing and scoring programs within MCAE, leveraging data from Data Cloud for advanced segmentation.
  • Assist in the operational setup and configuration of Einstein AI features, such as Einstein Lead Scoring and predictive audiences, ensuring they are fueled by clean, unified data from Data Cloud.
  • Build and test automated journey triggers based on customer data platform insights.
  • Execute data cleansing, deduplication, and archival tasks in both MCAE and Salesforce CRM under the guidance of the architect.
  • Implement and enforce data governance rules and consent management settings within the marketing cloud platforms.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for configurations, integrations, and processes.
  • Conduct thorough unit testing, integration testing, and support UAT for all developed components.
  • Monitor data health and platform performance, troubleshooting and resolving issues related to data syncs, integration errors, and automation failures.
  • Continuously optimize programs and data flows for performance and efficiency.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience as a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer or Administrator, with a strong focus on Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (MCAE, formerly Pardot).
  • Must-have recent, hands-on experience with Salesforce Data Cloud (formerly Customer Data Platform). This includes demonstrated experience with:
  • Proven experience building integrations between MCAE, Salesforce CRM, and external systems using APIs and middleware.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce CRM data model and proficiency in writing SOQL queries.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for crafting personalized email and web experiences.
  • Familiarity with marketing technology concepts such as lead lifecycle, attribution, and lead scoring.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ingesting and unifying data from multiple sources (e.g., MCAE, CRM, web data).
  • Creating and managing data streams, data model objects, and unified profiles.
  • Segmenting audiences using Data Cloud's query tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Salesforce certifications such as:
  • Experience with Marketing Cloud Personalization (Interaction Studio).
  • Familiarity with web analytics tools (GA4) and tag management systems (Google Tag Manager, especially sGTM).
  • Experience with B2B marketing and Account-Based Marketing (ABM) strategies and tools (e.g., Demandbase).
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Salesforce Data Cloud Consultant / Accredited Professional
  • Marketing Cloud Account Engagement Specialist / Consultant
  • Salesforce Administrator (ADM 201)
