Senior Mechanical Engineer

Huawei Helsinki Hardware and system Laboratory is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to join us in a technology project aimed at promote the quality of commercial products. The primary responsibility of this role is to analyze and verify the failure products, such as wearable and handset devices. You will collaborate with a team of experts from various domains.

Main Tasks:

  • You are responsible for performing detailed failure cause analyses of material, mechanical and product system failures in wearable products
  • Create accurate and comprehensive root cause reports, including analysis results, recommended corrective actions and their effects, as well as routines for mechanical error analysis
  • Close cooperate with interdisciplinary teams to solve fault causes and implement preventive measures in future wearable products
  • Development and maintenance of a knowledge database on known mechanical-related errors and their solutions in wearable products
  • Support company's service team about mechanical problem in technical meetings and questions

Requirements:

  • BSc/MSc degree in Mechanical engineering or similar
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in design and development of mechanical components or systems in consumer electronics 
  • Familiar with mechanical development, possessing basic knowledge in professional areas such as common engineering materials, production processing, and failure analysis 
  • Familiar with troubleshooting mechanical products including reliability failures, tolerance analysis, and DFM/DFS
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Experience with CAD software (CREO, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Ability to work independently, but also a cooperative team player.
  • Suits well in a multicultural environment
  • Interest to learn new things every day and ability to learn effectively
  • Ability to work effectively on a changing environment (requirements, schedule etc. might change)

Contract period and starting date: This is a full-time consultant position; the consultant shall be employed by Huawei's supplier. We expect you to start as soon as possible and job will be filled as soon as suitable candidate has found.
