Position Function:

The Assistant Athletic Director for Talent Management Operations provides operational and financial support for Mississippi State Athletics. This position assists the Deputy AD for Talent Management with contract execution, roster oversight, and talent acquisition operations, while also coordinating revenue-sharing payment processing, scholarship administration, and compliance reporting. The role ensures accurate and efficient execution of student-athlete financial operations and serves as a key liaison across the Athletic Business Office, Compliance, Financial Aid, and departmental leadership.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

1. Manage daily operations and reporting related to student-athlete revenue sharing.
2. Manage student-athlete contract execution, tracking and retention.
3. Manage CAPS system, including rosters and revenue-sharing allocations.
4. Provide reconciliations, reporting and financial documentation related to revenue sharing and scholarships as requested by the Deputy AD for Talent Management and the Athletic Business Office.
5. Coordinate student-athlete revenue-sharing payments through processing partner, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance.
6. Support talent acquisition negotiations and operations as directed by the Deputy AD for Talent Management.
7. Maintain accurate records for all contracts, rosters and revenue-sharing payments.
8. Prepare financial and compliance reports related to Talent Management.
9. Manage and document all Talent Management workflows.
10. Work closely with Athletics leadership and external partners to support NIL-related operations and activations as directed by the Deputy AD for Talent Management.
11. Assist with development and execution of NIL-related functions and strategies as assigned.
12. Responsible for the accuracy and maximization of revenue share cap management and financial aid support in conjunction with resource availability and roster limits.
13. Stay updated on national trends, cap projections and rule changes.
14. Assist Deputy AD for Talent Management and sport staff with roster planning and management, modeling financial and roster implications of future signing classes in conjunction with retention objectives.
15. Provide analytics related to contracts, valuations and performance metrics.
16. Assist Deputy AD for Talent Management with developing and implementing accountability metrics.
17. Assist Deputy AD for Talent Management and Deputy AD/CFO on special projects as assigned.
18. Ensure compliance with NCAA, CSC, SEC, University and state regulations.
19. Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position may supervise select staff, interns, and student workers.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or related field with 4 years of experience in Athletics Administration, financial operations, or related area.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1. Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Sports Administration.
  • 2. Experience with student-athlete contracts, payroll, or roster management systems.
  • 3. Familiarity with NCAA, CSC, and SEC compliance rules related to financial aid and revenue sharing.
  • 4. Experience with PayCom or similar payroll/HRIS software.

• Could involve lifting, bending or other physical exertion. Frequent exposure to one or more elements such as heat, cold, noise, dirt, chemicals, etc. are possible.
