About The Role:

Are you a structured person with experience in mechanical design? Do you also want to work in a complex, high-tech industry and contribute to a better climate?

Welcome to Westinghouse and the Department of Decommissioning of Nuclear Facilities! We are about 40 employees in areas such as design management, project management and mechanical design who work together with segmentation (decommissioning) of reactor vessels and their internal parts.

As a Mechanical Designer you will help develop project-specific tools for decommissioning  and handling of the radioactive components.

You will report to the Segmentation Engineering Manager and be located in Västerås, Sweden.

Model of work: hybrid.

Key Responsibilities:

• Make 3D simulations in CAD of the cutting and of the packing in containers
• Develop detailed designs for the manufacturing of the tools
• Write instructions for our technicians who will use the tools
• In addition to the daily work, we would like you to challenge previous technical solutions to constantly improve function and design in such a way that we save time and avoid problems when using the equipment in the field.

Qualifications:

• To fit in our group, we believe that you are communicative and have good collaboration skills as the work is run in smaller project groups. You have experience in mechanical designs and are motivated by developing solutions. We also believe that you succeed in an environment that is open and challenging and are curious to learn more about the growing decommissioning area.
• Bachelor's/Master's degree in engineering or equivalent work experience

• Solid Design Expertise

• 2+ years of experience making mechanical designs in CAD
• Write technical documentation and work in the Office package
• Very good English skills (speaking and writing)
• Knowledge of Swedish in speaking and writing is an asset.
• If you also have experience with ProEngineer/CREO, this is an advantage
