Ignite Education Solutions is hiring a Guidance Counselor to work in the Richland School District.

What are the duties and responsibilities?
- Disseminate of scholarship information and supply school-to-career guidance
- Interpret standardized test scores
- Develop guidance curriculum and provide student resources
- Counsel individual students
- Work with students one-on-one, in a private setting with teachers and parents, or with peers in a group assembly or discussion forum.
- Document all topics covered during counseling session
- Inform appropriate staff of anything stated during counseling that needs tobe reported
- Display a friendly, positive nurturing attitude toward students, parents and staff
- Attend any required meetings for the students
- Be engaged with the students at all times
- Maintain positive relationship with school building employees, classroom aides, TSS personal and school administrators
- Participate in recommended training programs, conferences, courses, and other aspects of professional growth
- Understand responsibility as a mandated child abuse/neglect reporter according to PA State Law
- Maintain a professional attitude and loyalty to the organization at all times
- Other duties as assigned by the Classroom Instructor or the Education Director or other administrators
What are the required qualifications?
- Must possess one of the following criteria:
- Willingness to go through (and pass!) the required clearances and training to ensure the safety and security of our children, including: four clearances, mandated reporter training, a physical and TB test.
- Capacity for sitting, standing, walking, bending and stopping for long periods of time, as these happen throughout the eight-hour day.
- Certified school counselor
- Licensed social worker
- School social worker
- Certified/licensed therapist
- School psychologist
- Psychologist
