Summary

The Boeynaems lab seeks a Research Technician to study how protein condensation is implicated in the etiology of neurodegenerative disease and brain cancer. The work includes protein biochemistry/biophysics, cell culture, microscopy and mass spectrometry.

Job Duties

  • Plans, executes, and conducts protocols for research experiments alongside graduate students and postdocs.
  • Performs cell culture studies using immortalized cell lines and stem cells.
  • Performs immunohistochemistry and microscopy, using a confocal microscope.
  • Performs plasmid preparations and assists the lab manager in biobanking.
  • Collects, compiles, analyzes and presents data to the PI and other lab members.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Has strong organizational and experimental skills.
  • Good communication skills and be able to work well in a team.
  • Experience in wet lab is a plus.
