Blue  Sky Risk, LLC (BSR), is an insurance industry Program Administrator that specializes in providing tailored commercial insurance solutions and programs to niche industries with difficult-to-place risks. The company’s primary commitment is to match superior underwriting analysis with customized distribution strategies for these niche sectors.

Primarily supporting the Park Shield program, you'll play a pivotal role in our mission to offer commercial property and general liability underwriting solutions for manufactured housing communities. This opportunity, located in Sandy Springs, Georgia, provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of the business at an early stage. Your role will involve close collaboration with the Program Lead and Underwriters offering a unique, hands-on learning experience.

To excel in this job, you must be comfortable working with a moderate level of ambiguity while finding solutions to new problems in a fast-paced environment. This entry-level position will be responsible for underwriting administrative needs and helping to build both our brand and organization.

Risk Management and Insurance majors are preferred, but all degrees are welcome. Insurance experience is also preferred but not required for this position.

In This Position You Will:

  • Thoroughly review applications, conduct initial underwriting assessments, and process submissions for new business accounts.
  • Skillfully identify and collect relevant account information including but not limited to risk exposure, occupancy, construction class, protective safeguards, building valuations, loss history and claims history.
  • Own the handling of tasks like binder creation, subjectivity tracking, invoicing, loss runs, and notice generations, and the creation of final policy documents and non-monetary endorsements to ensure efficient operations and timely service delivery.
  • Establish and maintain business relationships with specialized insurance brokers.
  • Effectively coordinate and schedule inspections while monitoring compliance with recommended actions.
  • Manage account documentation and file maintenance per compliance guidelines.

Education And Experience:

  • Bachelor's Risk Management & Insurance degree is preferred but not required.
  • At least 1-3 years’ experience in an insurance operations position.
  • General understanding of insurance
  • Demonstrate self-motivation, detail-oriented, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, early-stage, high-growth setting.
  • Demonstrate ability to excel both independently and collaboratively within team environments.
  • Proven analytical skills including the ability to identify and report problems or errors while managing substantial amounts of detailed information.
  • Strong math skills with an emphasis on problem-solving.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relations within and outside of the company.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite products
  • Commercial property & casualty experience is preferred but not required.

The base salary range for this position is $55,000 to $75,000.  The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
