Job Description
- 1 day per week, until June 2026 with the possibility to extend
- Based in Port Macquarie, on the lands of the Birpai People, onsite
- $44.78 - $48.99 -Level 4 SACS Agreement + 12% Super + Generous Salary Packaging benefits of up to $18,550
About the Reconnect Program
Reconnect is part of Each’s Mental Health and Alcohol & Other Drugs services, supporting young people at risk of homelessness and their families. The team is passionate about early intervention, empowering youth to overcome barriers and build brighter futures.
- Your role, your impact
- As a Youth Worker, you’ll make a real difference for young people facing complex challenges. You’ll:
- Facilitate intake and assessment to identify eligibility and needs.
- Develop and monitor individual plans with clear outcomes and goals.
- Provide flexible, timely case coordination and ongoing support.
- Utilise early intervention strategies (individual, group, motivational activities).
- Create innovative approaches for working with youth at risk of homelessness.
- Offer proactive youth-focused activities (sport, art, career-based).
- Deliver culturally sensitive services for ATSI and CALD backgrounds.
- Who we’re looking for
- You’re passionate about supporting vulnerable youth and thrive in a collaborative, inclusive team. You bring:
- Experience working with young people, especially those facing complex issues.
- Understanding of adolescent development and transition challenges.
- Ability to engage schools, education, and employment providers.
- Well-developed counselling, mediation, and case management skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Certificate IV in Youth Work or relevant tertiary qualifications.

- Experience working with Indigenous communities.
- Knowledge of local services, networks, and referral pathways.
- Computer literacy (Windows, Word, Email, Excel).
