The global database team is responsible for supporting, administering, and securing QRT’s core database platforms. The team works with stakeholders across the business to design, deliver, and maintain robust database solutions that enable research, trading, and operational functions.
Your Future Role within QRT
- Support, administer, and maintain production database systems
- Contribute to high availability, capacity planning, disaster recovery, and performance tuning initiatives
- Design and implement database solutions across production, testing, and development environments
- Manage security, access controls, and permissions across database platforms
- Work with stakeholders to address data flow, integration, and reporting requirements
- Support migration, upgrades, and enhancements across multiple database technologies
- Contribute to automation and monitoring improvements through scripting and tooling
- Ensure documentation and testing are embedded into database operations
Your Present Skillset
- 5+ years’ experience in production database administration
- Strong knowledge of at least two of the following: SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle
- Familiarity with database monitoring, analysis, disaster recovery, and performance tuning
- Experience with scripting (e.g. PowerShell, Shell scripting, Python, Ansible)
- Practical knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments
- Experience with database programming languages (e.g. SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL)
- Ability to manage security, permissions, and database access controls
- Knowledge of industry best practices for database administration
- Strong attention to detail with focus on testing and documentation
- Collaborative team player with a proactive approach
- Experience with additional database technologies (e.g. ClickHouse, Snowflake) is a plus
- Exposure to cloud database administration is a plus
