General Summary

The MRI Supervisor reports to the Adm. Director of Medical Imaging. The primary job function is to provide the leadership and management skills necessary to develop, implement, monitor, and lead the activities of SOMC's MRI Department. This includes variety of MRI procedures utilizing MRI equipment.

Qualifications

Education:

• High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam Required
• Associate Degree in Applied Science, Radiology required

Licensure:

• Arrt(R) Required

• Arrt(Mr) Required

• BLS within 90 days of hire required

Experience:

• Two years MRI Tech experience required
• Previous supervisory experience preferred

JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

The following is a summary of the major job duties of this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time. 

1. Ensures equipment and supplies are adequately maintained.
2. Serves as a technical resource person in resolving complex problems and customer concerns.
3. Maintains a cooperative working relationship with the medical staff and other hospital personnel to coordinate MRI's services.
4. Performs the duties of a MRI Tech when necessary
5. Monitors quality of images, functional quality control.
6. Pre-cleans, decontaminates and transports contaminated instruments according to policy
7. Performs intermediate-level disinfection and/ or high level disinfection per the Instructions for Use (IFU) by the manufacture. This includes ensuring the scopes or probes used within the department are cleaned, disinfected, maintained and stored per the IFU’s.
