Job Description
How you’ll make an impact
Lumino Kerikeri is currently looking for a Dental Assistant to join us on a fixed-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to become a valued member of our team while gaining experience in a supportive and high-performing environment.
This position is three days per week, giving you a consistent, balanced schedule while still enjoying a long weekend every week.
In this role, you’ll be an integral part of the clinical team, supporting our dentists to deliver an exceptional patient experience. You’ll assist during a variety of procedures, maintain high standards of infection control, and ensure treatment rooms are always prepared and fully stocked.
Your Key Responsibilities Include:
- Preparing treatment rooms and sterilising instruments
- Assisting dentists during a wide range of procedures
- Supporting patient care and comfort throughout appointments
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Performing supportive clinical tasks such as impressions or radiographs (if trained)
- Welcoming patients and helping create a warm, friendly atmosphere
Qualifications
Your experience and approach
You’ll bring a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a willingness to be part of a collaborative team. While previous dental assisting experience is an advantage, it’s not essential – we value reliability, a great work ethic, and a patient-first mindset.
What We’Re Looking For:
- Previous dental assisting experience and/or a relevant qualification (preferred but not essential)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to multitask and follow protocols
- A warm, professional manner with patients and colleagues
- Familiarity with dental software or electronic records (a plus)

Our eight-chair Kerikeri practice and two-chair Paihia location serve a loyal patient base in one of New Zealand’s most desirable lifestyle destinations. We offer a full range of dental services – from general dentistry to advanced treatments like orthodontics, implants, and same-day crowns.
Work Schedule:
This is a fixed-term position until 31 January 2026. The role is three days per week: Monday and Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 5:15 PM, and Tuesday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The primary location is Kerikeri, with occasional days in Paihia if needed
