Team Description
‘Global Merchandising & New Initiatives’ team at Coupang’s Global eCommerce organization focuses on driving marketing, selection and new business for Coupang’s strong global portfolio. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Sr. Manager - Global Biz. Marketing Specialist. This person must be entrepreneurial by nature with strong responsibility and willing to contribute to building a positive customer experience towards Coupang global business and its selection by taking part in a diverse, ‘glocal’ experienced team.
This person will work with cross-functional teams as well as external network including agencies. The primary goal of this role is to help Coupang’s global team to strengthen its selection of what our customers want and drives marketing/merchandising activities to increase its visibility and customer loyalty.
What You Will Do
- Begins every day obsessed over Customer Experience. Starts with customer focused objectives and works backwards. Solution-building mindset to address and WOW our customers by utilizing internal/external data on customers and market.
- Collaborate with internal/external teams to develop marketing ideas, plan and execute seasonal promotions and campaigns based on the ‘Merchandising Calendar’, analyze results based on data and devise ways to continuously enhance the customer experience.
- Set team goals for top-line metrics (orders, GMV) and customer behavior indicators (inflow, conversion, retention, etc.), and develop and execute marketing strategies to drive customer growth and long-term value.
- Build and streamline internal processes for smooth collaboration between the business, and different functional teams.
Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years of work experience, including at least 5 years in Marketing or eCommerce
- 3+ years of team management experience
- Proven track record of leading projects with quantitative targets and performance ownership
- Able to prioritize and manage work effectively in complex, fast-paced environments with multiple stakeholders and competing requests; prefers a dynamic work style
- Deep understanding of, and familiarity with, digital marketing layout and logic
- Ability to generate new ideas and experiment with different approaches; understands the difference between 1-way and 2-way doors
- Detail oriented, high standards and a bias toward action
- Always ensures business goals and plans are in line with ‘WOW-ing the Customer’ – never sacrifices customer experience for short-term goal
- English & Korean language skills in a proficient and concise way. Both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in working in e-commerce OR global brands OR marketing agencies
- Experience in content strategy building from in-house/agency
- Bachelor’s degree majored in business, finance, analytical or related majors (mathematics, statistics, economics, marketing, etc.)
- Experience with SQL or Tableau is a plus
