Position SummaryThe Consumer Insights & Marketing Analytics Manager translates data into actionable strategies that drive brand growth and consumer engagement. They lead research and analytics to uncover trends, measure performance, and identify opportunities across channels and categories. By blending quantitative rigor with strategic storytelling, they equip teams with insights that shape marketing, innovation and overall business impact.
Consumer Market Insights Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging beauty trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape dynamics
- Analyze consumer behavior data across multiple channels to generate actionable insights for product development and marketing strategies
- Design and implement consumer survey, focus groups, and other research methodologies to gather qualitative and quantitative feedback
- Develop consumer personas and journey maps to enhance understanding of target audiences and their decision-marking processes
- Monitor industry reports, market data, and sales analytics to identify growth opportunities and potential threats
- Translate complex data into clear, compelling insights that drive strategic business decisions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consumer insights inform product innovation, marketing campaign and retail strategies
- Create and present regular reports on market trends, consumer sentiment, and competitive intelligence to leadership teams
Innovation Responsibilities:
- Identify opportunities for product innovation based on market trends, consumer insights and social listening data
- Research emerging technologies, ingredients and formulations in the beauty industry
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, marketing, and PD teams to bring innovative concepts to market
- Stay current on industry innovations and recommend potential partnerships
Marketing Analytics Responsibilities:
- Lead comprehensive analysis of customer behavior across multiple ecommerce platforms (Shopify, Meta Checkout, TikTok Shop) and CRM platforms (Email/SMS)
- Monitor and optimize key performance metrics including take rate, CTR, CVR, ROAS, AOV, CLTV, and other critical performance indicators
- Develop and maintain sophisticated dashboards in Shopify, GA4, and other analytics platforms to track performance and identify growth opportunities
- Design and evaluate A/B tests and personalization efforts in partnership with the digital team to optimize user experience and conversion rates
- Identify emerging trends and opportunities across digital marketing channels to provide actionable insights that drive profitable growth
- Segment and analyze customer cohorts to inform lifecycle strategies, loyalty programs, retention initiatives and CRM optimizations
- Provide data-driven insights on purchase behavior patterns to maximize cart value and encourage repeat purchases
- Support the launch and optimizations of new programs including subscription services, loyalty initiatives and international expansion with robust data analysis
- Partner with data engineering and web development teams to ensure clean data collection, proper tagging implementation and overall data pipeline health
- Evaluate and integrate analytics tools and vendors as needed, leading the RFP process and Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) and Multi-Touch Attribution (MTA) tools
Social Listening Responsibilities:
- Analyze social media conversations, trends and consumer feedback across platforms to gain actionable insights for product development and marketing strategies
- Track Competitor activities, industry developments and emerging beauty trends through social listening tools
- Prepare regular reports on social sentiment, identifying opportunities and potential issues that could impact brand reputation
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to translate social listening insights into actionable recommendations
- Develop and optimize social listening dashboards to track key performance indicators and consumer sentiment metrics
Requirements:
- Minimum 4-5 years of experience in market analysis, and data insights and analytics.
- Bachelor’s degree in Market Research, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Marketing, or a related quantitative field. A master's degree or MBA is a plus.
- Strong ability to analyze and synthesize disparate information from multiple data sources into a holistic story with strategic implications and recommendations. Capable of turning complex information into simple and understandable messaging.
- Inherently curious, proactive, and enjoys digging beyond the surface to uncover insights. Exceptional at finding trends and the story in the data, articulating the “so what,” and translating insights into strategic, actionable recommendations.
- Passionate about customer-centricity and data-driven strategy, with the ability to effectively communicate and influence key stakeholders.
- Outstanding analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills with extreme attention to detail. Ability to focus on both strategy and execution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and data story-telling skills, including the ability to clearly present findings and recommendations to diverse stakeholders. Has executive presence with a high degree of comfort working with and presenting to senior leaders.
- Outstanding knowledge of syndicated data sets (e.g., NielsenIQ, Circana, Euromonitor, Numerator) and ability to navigate beyond pulling numbers, to analyze and distill the most relevant insights.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently and effectively across multiple projects, without sacrificing accuracy and attention to detail, in an extremely fast-paced environment.
- Thrives in ambiguity and agile work environments, with strong prioritization and project management skills.
- Strong business acumen with experience in category strategy.
- Proficiency in MS Office core suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
- Experience using data analytics tools and languages such as SQL, SPSS, etc.
- Experience on the supplier side and brand side of research/insights preferred.
- Strong understanding of how AI can create efficiency and enhance deliverables.
- Consumer goods industry experience preferred.
- Passionate about the beauty industry.
