The Role

The Compensation & Benefits Specialist contributes to the Total Rewards strategy, implements, maintains and executes competitive compensation and benefits programs aligned with the organization's strategic objectives to ensure internal equity, external competitiveness, and compliance with legal requirements.

  • Contribute to the design of the Total Rewards strategy.
  • Review and update compensation structures, salary bands, and job grading systems.
  • Conduct regular market benchmarking and compensation surveys to maintain competitiveness.
  • Execute and maintain annual salary review, bonus, and incentive processes and programs.
  • Evaluate new and existing roles for appropriate compensation levels and job classification.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition to provide compensation guidance on offers, promotions, and internal movements.
  • Review, maintain and executive benefits programs.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws regarding compensation and benefits (e.g., labor law, tax regulations, reporting requirements).
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records to support audits (SOX), regulatory reviews.
  • Provide insights and analysis on compensation and benefits data to support strategic decision-making.
  • Develop dashboards and reports on key HR metrics (e.g., pay equity, total rewards competitiveness, cost of benefits).
  • Support internal and external audit requirements as necessary.
  • Drive compensation and benefits-related projects such as system implementations, policy updates, and global mobility programs.
  • Support change management efforts related to total rewards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate rewards programs into broader talent strategies.

Key Qualifications & Experience

Must-Have Requirements:

Required:

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in compensation and benefits or total rewards.
  • Strong knowledge of compensation structures, job evaluation methodologies, and salary benchmarking.
  • Proven experience in annual salary review cycles, bonus schemes, equity and benefits administration.
  • Hands-on experience with compensation tools (e.g., Mercer, Willis Towers Watson, Radford).
  • Familiarity with relevant labour laws and regulatory requirements related to compensation and benefits.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

Preferred:

  • Experience in an international high-tech environment with exposure to global compensation practices.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects or change management initiatives related to rewards.
  • Working knowledge of global mobility, equity compensation, or executive compensation is a plus.
