Position Summary:
The Director of Accounting is responsible for overseeing the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of the organization’s consolidated financial reporting and technical accounting functions. This role ensures the organization’s financial statements and disclosures meet the highest standards of U.S. GAAP and regulatory compliance, while supporting strategic initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions and treasury operations. The Director will lead a high-performing team and collaborate cross-functionally to maintain strong internal controls and balance sheet health.
Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Accounting or Business Administration, CPA strongly preferred.
- Seven (7) to ten (10) years’ related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, and financial reporting
- Possess strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and external stakeholders through strong project management
- Committed to fostering interpersonal relationships across functions to drive business process improvements.
- Demonstrate a wide degree of creativity, initiative, and problem solving is expected.
- Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) applications and ability to learn various software applications required to perform job functions.
- Ability to research complex accounting standards and apply correctly to the company’s financial statements.
- Ability to identify risks within the financial reporting process and direct the design and implementation of effective controls.
- Ability to navigate complex organizational structures and joint ventures
- Experience in healthcare (incl. Cost Reporting) or nonprofit sectors preferred
- Experience with large-scale ERP systems and financial reporting tools preferred
- Demonstrated success managing treasury and investment accounting preferred
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and processes at once driving them to completion.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate and communicate the core values of BAYADA Home Health Care and The BAYADA Way.
- Directs and supervises the activities of a team and is directly responsible for coaching and mentoring, identifying professional development needs and training opportunities, and performance evaluations.
- Lead the preparation of annual and quarterly consolidated financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Own and manage the consolidation process over all legal entities including intercompany eliminations and adjustments.
- Oversee external financial audits, including coordination with independent auditors and timely resolution of audit findings.
- Support the preparation and review of materials for Finance Committee Meetings and other external communications.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, including technical accounting for complex transactions (e.g., M&A, joint ventures).
- Maintain and enhance accounting policies and procedures to reflect best practices and regulatory changes.
- Direct treasury accounting activities including cash management, investments, debt, interest, and banking relationships.
- Oversee insurance and employee benefits accounting, ensuring accurate accruals and financial reporting.
- Oversee bank reporting and covenant compliance ensuring reporting is provided accurately and timely
- Lead accounting and reporting for joint ventures, including equity method accounting and intercompany eliminations.
- Oversee cost reporting for regulatory and reimbursement purposes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Monitor and manage balance sheet integrity, including account reconciliations, reserves, and risk exposures.
- Establish and maintain internal controls over all areas of responsibility, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Partner with internal audit and compliance teams to strengthen financial governance.
- Provide accounting leadership for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, including due diligence and integration.
- Review analysis and manage procedures required for purchase accounting including any journal entries needed to accurately reflect new ventures and acquisitions.
- Serve as a key advisor to the Controller and executive leadership on accounting implications of strategic initiatives.
- Lead or support system implementations and upgrades related to financial reporting and treasury.
