Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a mid or senior level Project Management Specialist, Proprietary Program to join our team in Hazelwood, MO to support processes, parts, and supplier qualifications. The qualified candidate will provide project management and cost management support for a BDS proprietary program Materials & Process Engineering team.
The project management specialist will serve as an integration focal for a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team responsible for developing and qualifying next-generation fabrication, inspection and assembly processes and processors.
This role will require strong organization and communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders, and a proven track record in project execution management. This specialist will provide assistance to the M&P Engineering leadership team with planning, coordinating and managing the cross-functional tasks to meet cost, schedule and performance goals. This includes collaborating with the internal teammates to define work packages, manage resources, develop execution plans, and report on variances.
Position Responsibilities
- Provides business and integration leadership for the development and execution of projects and team plans
- Responds to changes in statement of work, assess impact and assist with negotiating proposed changes to determine modifications to the deliverables, resources, costs and schedules
- Plans, identifies and coordinates activities, resources and events required to complete work statement effectively
- Assists with identification and removal of constraints and mitigates schedule and cost risks
- Creates and maintains schedules and reports
- Identifies and maintains performance metrics
- Assess connections to task predecessors and successors to ensure smooth project flow
- Compares actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned
- Performs cost account management tasks as assigned
- Travel up to 10%
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An Interim Pre-Start and Final Post Start Secret Clearance is required.
This position requires ability to obtain a Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university
- 3+ years’ related project management experience
- 3+ years’ experience utilizing Microsoft Office applications such as Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):
- Certification in project management
- Experience in coordinating teams to deliver results
- 5 or more years of project management experience
- Experience with managing budgets and resources, familiarity with earned value management
- Experience working on aircraft programs or supporting production systems
- Prioritize and achieve tasks when under pressure
- Detail oriented and customer focused with excellent time management skills
Typical Education/Experience:
Level 3- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).
Level 4- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.).
