Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Director of Quality Engineering to lead our enterprise-wide Quality Engineering (QE) function. This leader will own the strategy, execution, and innovation of testing practices across multiple product lines, ensuring world-class quality, scalability, and performance. The Director will manage and mentor senior QA leaders, including QA Managers, Senior QA Managers, Automation Architects, and Principal QA Engineers—while driving the adoption of modern test automation frameworks, CI/CD practices, and engineering excellence. 

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Define and execute the enterprise-wide QE strategy aligned with organizational goals. 
• Establish scalable test automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and quality standards across diverse product teams. 
• Partner with Product, Development, DevOps, and Architecture leaders to embed quality into every phase of the SDLC. 
• Champion shift-left testing, DevTestOps, and AI/ML-driven quality practices. 

People & Organizational Leadership 

• Lead a global team of QA leaders (Managers, Sr. Managers, Architects, Principals) across multiple product units. 
• Mentor, coach, and develop future QA leaders, ensuring strong career growth paths. 
• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement within the QE organization. 

Engineering & Delivery Excellence 

• Drive functional, regression, performance, scalability, and security testing strategies. 
• Oversee implementation of highly reliable automation frameworks for web, API, mobile, microservices, and cloud-native applications. 
• Lead enterprise-wide performance, load, and stress testing initiatives to ensure platform scalability and customer satisfaction. 
• Establish metrics and KPIs (e.g., defect escape rate, automation coverage, release confidence index) to measure quality maturity. 

Continuous Integration & Delivery (CI/CD) 

• Collaborate with DevOps to strengthen CI/CD pipelines ensuring fast, reliable, and automated releases. 
• Drive test environment automation, containerization, and service virtualization for faster test cycles. 
• Ensure test execution is cloud-native, scalable, and optimized for speed and coverage. 

Required Qualifications

• 18+ years of overall experience in Quality Engineering, with at least 8+ years in leadership roles. 
• Proven track record of leading large-scale QA organizations across multiple products. 
• Functional and Non-Functional Testing (Performance, Scalability, Security). 
• Automation Frameworks & Tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, REST Assured, JUnit/TestNG). 
• CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, etc.). 
• Cloud-native testing (AWS, Azure, GCP). 
• Experience driving enterprise-level transformations in test automation and quality practices. 

• Deep Expertise In:

• Strong technical acumen with ability to partner with architects and engineering leaders on complex system designs. 
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. 
• Experience in microservices, containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and API-first architectures. 
• Exposure to AI/ML-driven test automation, RPA, and intelligent defect prediction. 
• Background in security testing, compliance, and regulatory quality frameworks. 
• Global team leadership experience across distributed and hybrid environments.
